Hip Tendon Tears

All too often, the hip tendons can get ripped up and torn or injured with wear and tear or trauma. This can include the ITB, hamstrings, or iliopsoas. Many times these things are actually related to the low back, which can only be determined by a whole person exam.

The commonly recommended intervention for chronic tendon pain and tightness can involve sewing together tears, cutting the tendon to try to get it to heal, or lengthening a tight tendon. While this approach may lead to relief of the tightness and surrounding symptoms, the body is precisely balanced, and the shortening or lengthening of the tendon often leads to other problems. Moreover, whatever bio-mechanical problem led to the initial tendon injury has not been resolved. In evaluating these problems, our expert physicians are trained to look for the root cause of any injury and will spend a full hour with each patient diagnosing the problem and laying out an appropriate treatment plan that addresses not only the symptom but the root cause of the injury.

If you elect to move forward with treatment, you can expect the following.

During this outpatient procedure, our expert physicians use precise image guidance to inject custom concentrations of your body’s natural healing agents into the precise areas of damage to tighten and stabilise your hip for better function and mobility.
